>>So you're saying in 2 years Microsoft will have a 3% market share > >Yea, its going to take a wee bit longer that two years for all >windows users to realize their using an inferior operating system, >In fact many will never switch (depressing isn't it). To add a "sort of" serious twist to this, for the first time since the 80s Apple is getting serious and positive press in IT publications that formerly ignored them almost completely. The XServe and Xserve RAID are really bringing Apple in the Limelight. Does Microsoft have to worry? No. Could this result in, say, a 15% market share over the next 3 years? Yes. Caveat is that Apple has been here before and screwed IT folks so bad that even as good as the XServe is folks are cautious. If the server version of Panther is a full price upgrade as Jaguar was (that's $1,000 per seat!), it will kill the momentum and Apple Marketing will be scratching their head and wondering why such a great product can't penetrate its market. -- <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Mike Bigley Maineville, Ohio http://www.norbertrunning.com Please support an American Indian Elder & Medicine Man by visiting the above link. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
