[Ti] L3 cache on/off problems

Umm, perhaps because you actually do have a bad SRAM?

Two hints:  you see the message about a bad sram in cachecontrolX, and your
machine hangs when you enable the L3 cache...

Time for a visit to your nearest Apple dealer, I would think!
