On Fri, Dec 12, 2003, the following words from T Molnar tam at em.ca,
emerged from a plethora of SPAM ...

>Anyone know how to get Appleworks to respond to a Microsoft
>Intellimouse (optical USB) so that the mouse wheel will allow scrolling
>while in Appleworks?
>I have tried several things with the sys pref panels and looking around
>in Applework prefs but nothing seems to work.

In X, the application has to have support for wheel scrolling, which
Appleworks does not. Native Cocoa applications apparently use the ability
as provided by OS X. Other Carbon applications have to have the ability
within the program. Unfortunately, Apple never applied scroll wheel
support in AppleWorks. Maybe that will be addressed in a future update of
AppleWorks since I don't know of any hacks to provide the feature.
