disclaimer:  this email is a little harsh and i apologize beforehand.

they did inform people that it was a 1x SD on the gigahertz books, i looked
into upgrading my 667 pre dvi to a ghz the day it came out.   On the site it
said clearly, 1x dvd-r.  So there was no bait and switch, and second, they
had already forced the SD into a book in the first place.  that in itself
was awesome enough.  so if you were under the wrong impression i beleive it
is your own fault.  second, NO firmware update will speed up a mechanism.
that is like expecting a firmware update to make your ghz run like a dual
1.25.  Not goign to happen.  and i know for a fact that you can "afford to
sit around and wait" because you are not a hollywood film hotshot.  so, tell
me, what money are did you throw away.  if you dont likeyour 'book, i will
trade you.
