Hello All, Having convinced my brother to give the MacOS X platform a try, he bought an iMac. He's been quite happy so far, but we've ran into the following problems (existed in 10.2.3 and continue in 10.2.4): (1) Apple Mail.app Mail has recently stopped sending outgoing mail. All outgoing mail is now stacking up in the "Out" box. Nothing is displayed in the Activity window when the "Send" button is clicked (as cleint/server communications *are* displayed when *receiving* mail). It can receive mail just fine. Furthermore, it's now only possible to quit Mail.app using "Force Quit", even if no user action has been performed -- i.e. it is not possible to launch, and then immediatley quit Mail. I've ran "Repair Permissions" from the Disk Utility. It found lots of things to repair, but apparently nothing related to this problem. I've setup Microsoft Entourage, which happily sends outgoing mail, so the problem is obviously not related to the ISP (Charter.net.) (2) System Preferences I've tried installing a number of 3rd party System Preferences, e.g. Default Folder, and MaxMenus and *nothing* shows up in the System Preferences. In fact, there's not even an "Other" section being displayed. I'm hoping somebody on this list may have an idea how to resolve either or both of these problems. Many, many thanks in advance.
