FWIW-- Big discussion at last nites' Mac User group ( FLMUG). Local camera owner displaying cameras in association with iPhoto demo indicated lots of people destroy memory cards by having computer interact with the cards. He said he sees 1-2 people a day with this problem. He claims that we should not use iPhoto or any other photo management software auto delete function. Claims only safe way is to use the camera feature to delete all the pictures at once. Also, said you should never add files to the cards using the computer. Audience experience appeared varied. He was not able to say if the problems were related to PCs or Macs. He claims that even reformatting in the camera was not enough to salvage the damaged memory cards. My own experience after more than 1 year with Olympus camera/ PBTi 500/ smartcard card reader --- no problem at all, adding, deleting etc. Niels Meersschaert wrote: > There is an option in both Image Capture & iPhoto to delete photos > after downloading them.
