DVD Region for a gypsy

I have just inserted a DVD into my TiBook for the first time.  I have been
asked to select the region code for future DVDs played.

I run a Film Festival here in Japan and receive lots of 'new media' DVDs
from all over the world.  From memory the was no region allocation necessary
on my old Bronze Powerbook.  Is it true there is no way to change this after
the five initial options?

Also, I will be returning to Australia for an extended period from this
July; a different region?  While taking the Trans-Siberian Railway thru to
on route to Florence and Venezuela.

Any recommendations?
