New designator for 17 inch PB: CTM

After many discussions with others on and off this list, I decided NOT to
order the 17" PB - which I now lovingly refer to as the CTM (Cafeteria Tray
Model) - I like this better than calling it "Al".  I traded in my Pismo and
picked up the 15" 1GHz Tibook and am really happy with the purchase and the
size.  I remember there was a lot of whining on this list when the 17" was
announced from people who had just bought the 1 GHz, so thought I'd mention
that given the option I actually chose the one you originally bought rather
than the latest iteration.  It runs well, is a great size and I have yet to
have any problems with heat.

Don't knock a company for pushing the edge and inventing new and better
products.  Apple is a business.  If they don't innovate, they die.  If they
die, you and I won't have these wonderfully stable products to use anymore.
So when they come out with new stuff, be happy that they're innovating, not
sad that you missed the latest product by a few weeks or months.
