I was on a few FirstClass BBS's many years ago, before I had an actual 
"internet" account.  I can even remember the biggest offering "e-mail" 
address, giving the users the ability to send and receive e-mail from 
from the internet.  At that time many of us didn't even know the 
difference.  When I got an internet account, I looked for FirstClass 
BBS's across the internet, and there were many.  Eventually, however, I 
stopped using FirstClass.  Now, however, my university uses firstclass 
in many classes, so I use it now again.
