Unless you have AppleCare, I suspect your TiBook is out of warranty since
it's a 667 (unless you're in the EU, where I believe Apple is forced to
offer a longer warranty?).

But based on past history, Apple has been quick to react when smoke or fire
is involved or alleged. Definitely give Apple a call.
