>I would expect both to support export/import as QIF file (Quicken >Interchange Format) which is a text file fomratted in a peculiar way. > >This way you could easily transfer data between the two. This is not always a trivial undertaking and the ability to open a Windows QB file on a Mac has been broken for some time. One cannot always guarantee that all parties involved in maintaining financial data will be technically adept and the QIF file does not always import data in a "smart" manner, sometimes screwing up dates, etc. QB is an incomplete application in this day if one cannot open files cross platform as in MS Office products, PDFs, Photoshop files, InDesign Files, etc. Quickbooks is a $600 piece of software, not a shareware hack; they owe it to their users to provide this type of file format as it is OFTEN an issue. Many small businesses who use Macs rely on Accountants who use PCs to do their taxes. Currently, we have to manually enter the modifications those accountants make to our documents. -- <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Mike Bigley Maineville, Ohio http://www.norbertrunning.com Please support an American Indian Elder & Medicine Man by visiting the above link. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
