Ron, I use the iRock and frankly, it sucks. But, since I don't have a cassette player, it's my only option. I'd wager that 10 feet is a realistic range. But, my problem may be that there are NO free frequencies where I live. So the transmitter has to compete with real broadcasters. According to a review I read, one of the better FM transmitters is by C. Crane http://www.ccrane.com/fm_transmitter_in_radio_accessories.asp This one ain't cheap, but it should work better that the Belkin or the iRock.
