[Ti] sleep mode - Battery life

Just my two cents on this debate;

My PB180c, bought in 1994, was/is sleeping most of its entire life. 
Except for one hardrive nothing was ever replaced. Now that my kids are 
using it, the first thing they learned was not to shut the computer off, 
but to press the sleep mode menu option when they are done.
