been stable for me for ages. (i run a fairly white bread os9 with few 
if any 3rd party extensions.)

perhaps a recalcitrant extension conflict?

the only sure fire way i know to make quark cough up a hairball is to 
have iTunes playing MP3s for long stretches. on heavy work days, it's 
common for me to do a soft reboot around lunch time to reset RAM, etc.
