Using a tablet for input is not is not too popular in testing of input
devices.  (I think Apple is familiar with the research.  In fact none of the
alternative input devices seem to be able to knock off the keyboard.)  Apple
supposedly had a prototype of a tablet with stylus several years ago and I
heard that in testing no one found it compelling so it was never produced.
