According to Joe McDaniel: >The MS Office Suite comes with Word, Excel, Entourage, and >Powerpoint. What does Appleworks have as far as Entourage and >Powerpoint? Is the solution to the mail software... Mail? > >Joe Mac Apple has Keynote, which has a lot of features that more than give PowerPoint a run for the money, and of course Address Book manages well enough, and then Mail is there, too. Address book and mail are freebies that work quite well. I use Entourage, strictly for PIM and the addressing link to Word, in Office for Mac OSX. I also use Eudora, so Address Book, from Apple is not linked to my email, too bad, but i'm so used to Eudora's Address Book, I don't care. One of these days, if i have what I overheard 'kids' referring to as a thing called 'free time', I'll write an Apple Script Studio routine that puts the same personal info/addresses, etc in Apple's Address book, Eudora's Address Book, Entourage, and Palm Desktop [for my Palm m130].. all at the same time. Now that would be grand. Even though i am no fan of Microsoft as a company in our 'free' market system, I've used FreeOffice, and OpenOffice, and MS has [on the Macintosh/OSX platform] the Killer app. It really works, and AppleWorks, just the word processor, will never come close to Word, as it exists for the Mac, now, in the Office Suite. This isn't a 'slam' on AW, or Apple, it's a simple case of: There's Office for Mac OSX, and then there's everything else. Since about OS 10.1.2 or so, I have yet to see Word or Entourage crash, even once. Not many other applications can say that, not here in my setup. ~flipper
