If I'm developing a piece of software, and along the I release some beta versions to the public in general, that does not mean I want every version I make, even if I share them with a few testers, sent out to everyone. Apple will (and has) shared some versions of its Safari with the public. The argument here seem to be that any version is comes up with, no matter how obtained, (and no matter what the bugs or dangers) is up for grabs for everyone. I think a company in Apple's position has to take a more cautious position than some of the programmers that release a new version almost every night. -- Roger
