Address Book Problem

For some reason my address book has blown up. I have made no system 
modifications and added no software, but when I try to launch my 
address book it bounces a few times and them closes. I can access all 
of my addresses through mail, but when I try to open mail it will just 
die. I deleted my address book preference file in my home directory, 
but still have the same problem. Any clues as to how to solve this.
