The Hardware Test CD doesn't run the Mac OS, it runs it's own OS that is _very_ closely tied to the hardware that it goes with. In other words, you can't boot a PowerBook G4 Hardware test in a PowerMac G4, for that matter, you can't even boot it in a PowerBook G3 (FireWire) even though they are virtually the same machine. This is done to make absolutely sure that it isn't a software issues that could be causing errors. twas 3/20/03 7:26 PM, when Robert Nicholson at robert at elastica.com treated us all with: > It's been a while since I ran mine but what Mac OS does that CD launch? > > twas 3/20/03 3:25 PM, when Steve Wozniak at steve at woz.org treated us all with: > >> My 17" came with a Software Install and Restore DVD but not with the Apple >> Hardware Test CD-ROM that is included with a SuperDrive TiBook.
