Hiya, FWIW, I bought a new 15" powerbook a few weeks ago and noticed that the lid didn't close quite flush with the notebook. I didn't really think about screen fractures so much, but that it may cause additional or unenen stress on the hinges which have been known to cause some issues on the 15" pb's in the past. Aesthetically I can deal with it - it's only 1mm or so, so what I did was called Apple and logged a ticket with them, then on their advice, brought it to an apple service centre so they could look at it. Nothing much has been done to change the slight problem, but I figure that I've safeguarded myself by officially notifying apple of it; I've been assured that there oughtn't be any problems by it, but if there is in the future, I can point back to the beginning days of the notebook purchase where I brought it to their attention and let them be responsible from there. ;-) mark On Friday, May 2, 2003, at 08:09 Australia/Melbourne, Chris Rock wrote: > Hmm I may look into those little pads then, the thing I am worrying > about, is sheer, causing fractures in the screen. but if it can be lvl > while closed as to now allow large amounts of play that I have > witnessed, then it may be fine ;)
