Hmmm.... Well, smooth as silk without Synergy - and slight pause every 
couple of seconds with it started.  Same hardware (12" Powerbook).  
Just played around turning Bluetooth, Airport and Sony Clicker off - no 
difference.  Synergy is the culprit on mine at least...  Sorry I can't 
be much more help...
