Slightly OT - Recommendation for a PC(!) notebook?

Okay - I am wondering if any switchers out there have any thoughts on a
cheap (sub-$1300) PC windows notebook from their past lives!

This is for my girlfriend who is starting a new restaurant in association
with an existing farm, who does all their accounting work in QuickBooks on
Windows.  She would obviously rather get an iBook or a used Powerbook (the
budget for computers is tight, hence no $500 virtual pc), but it looks like
she will have to suck it up and get a pc....does anyone have recommendations
for a unit that is most powerbook-like?
