Hmmm, This is interesting, as I never thought it could be with the System software DVD, which is what I used. I'm going to try a couple of tests. Now that the 80 GB is sitting safely in an external firewire enclosure, I'm going to boot up with it and see if it gives me the same troubles. Then, I'll format it and try and use carbon copy cloner on it to see if I can get it to work properly. Steve - did you experience the same kernel panic that I'm getting whenever I log out or restart?
