Panther: Go Flight

Hi Fellow Mac Geeks,
Just installed Panther on my 17" PowerBook, with 2 external FireWire
drives.
All systems go.
After reading some of the posts on this list and cruising the boards, I
was ready for the worst. Thankfully no such issues occurred. I have two
external Western Digital 7,200 RPM FW drives (80Gb and 120Gb) daisy
chained off Big Al's right FW port (and my iChat camera plugged in to
the FW slot on the last empty drive...).
I ran Norton System Works 2003 until there were no issues (on 10.2.8),
and optimized the internal disk. I disconnected the FW drives, booted
from the CD and took the Archive and Install path. Not a hiccup. I also
run a 20" Cinema Display, a two-button wireless Logitech mouse and an
external (Apple) keyboard. Dare I say this, but things could not have
gone smoother. None the less, it's always wise to take those
precautionary measures.
Thanks for the tips and posts everyone. BTW, Panther is sweet. My zippy
1GHz feels even more zippy. "It's like getting a whole new Mac ;-)"
