OSX Initial Upgrade Question

Hello All,

I'm trying to upgrade to 10.3. When my machine reboots to begin the 
initial upgrade questions, I select the language and click 'continue'. 
I'm now presented with a screen that basically says 'To continue with 
installation process, press continue.' I try to click on the 'continue' 
button but nothing happens. Its not that I can click the button and the 
machine just sits there. It appears that the window and the button are 
inactive and just a graphic. I'm also unable to select from the menu at 
the top of the screen. My only ability is that I can still move the 
window around the screen.

I have 2.3Gb of available space. I see that the basic upgrade 
requirement is 2Gb but is this cutting things too closely? Do I just 
need to wait longer for it to do a full scan? If any of you have 
experienced the same problem, how did you guys get around this?
