I've had the same problem here with my 667, the computer was overheating the fan would go crazy, and the computer would crash, I took it to the apple dealer repair center here, they told my that my hard disk needed to be replaced, I did that, and since everything is back to normal, no more crash, no more overheating, no more problems... I suggest that you check up your hard disk ( it was a mechanical problem, so no detection of bad behavior via software). Good luck ray
