G5 and 12" sharing / Mailboxes folder - Eudora >>> Mail

After having my Titanium 15" and external firewire stolen, I am 
rebuilding the last two years info and have a 1.6 Mhz G5 on the 
desktop and 867 Mhz 12" for travel. I am on the road a lot and need 
all capabilities Excel, Webmaster, Designer, etc.

I have both configured and working fairly well but need help on two aspects.

Have tried several times to import Eudora Mail folder into mac app 
"mail" as I would like to use the mac apps. Should I forget mail and 
stick with Eudora?

Never comes over complete - always varying boxes empty... is it 
supposed to be so laborious? I have 1,200 different mailboxes with 
varying content and it is an important resource for me. How do you 
import mail folder complete and intact?

2.

What is the best way to come home from the road and back up changes 
in 12" to the G5? I have downloaded Retrospect trial. It looks like I 
need to use that to back up the 12" and then need an external HD to 
back up the G5. Any recommendations? I remember someone in the group 
mentioning "Disk Images" once upon a time?
