Archive and install worked for me. I took a couple hours though, to look through each of my login items, go to the developer's website, and find out if a new version was required for Panther. In most cases, it was. In a couple cases, the developer acknowledges problems but does not have a fix yet. You must remove these items from your list. > By the way, I want to get rid of Classic. I only had one use for Classic, which was to boot into OS9 after a system upgrade to reverse the function key modifier so I can use them for QuicKeys without using the fn key. Unfortunately, this no longer works with Panther (ARGHHHH!!). But I am still not deleting the old OS9 System Folder, because it only takes 464 MB of disk space, and I am not in the business of trying to discover bugs which show up in nonstandard system configurations. There are millions of stable, well-functioning Macs out there with Classic still installed, and I'll stick with them.
