New 12" PowerBook shipped and HP 5650 question

I'd ordered one on September 18th (the SuperDrive model with the 
drive upgraded to 60GB), and was quoted "shipping on or before 9/26" 
at that time.  Well, it's shipped right on time from Taiwan, so it 
should be here next week!

Since this is my wife's machine and I already have a 17"-incher, I'm 
also upgrading our base station to the AirPort Extreme, and also took 
advantage of the $99 rebate on HP printers to buy the HP 5650 Deskjet 
printer.  One question - I'm going to hang the printer off the Base 
Station so we can share it.  But I cannot tell from the HP literature 
if this printer has to be turned on to print, or if it sleeps.  Does 
anybody know?  Having to go upstairs and turn it on before printing 
kind of defeats our portable lives!
