Onyx deletion of caches causes system hang

I told Onyx to delete browser and download cache and the history, and to
clean the system cache.  A short while after completing the task the system
hung.  After looking at the beachball for a while I powered down and
restarted into a default account.  Following this I had to restore my home
folder.  I haven't noticed anything missing.

I choose Onyx because someone on this list recommended it.  Has anyone else
had this problem?
