I cannot offer a solution to your problem but I hope it's ok I'm adding to this topic... My tiBook, bought in december of 2002 has always has really quiet speakers. im guessing its just the design, and i suppose it makes sense but i wondered if anyone else was sort of bugged by what seem to be pretty wimpy speakers. not a big deal if you've got externals which i do, but not always.. <html><DIV> <DIV> </DIV></DIV></html> ----Original Message Follows---- From: John <simplymail at ururk.com> Reply-To: "PowerBook G4 Titanium List" <Titanium at lists.themacintoshguy.com> To: "PowerBook G4 Titanium List" <Titanium at lists.themacintoshguy.com> Subject: [Ti] Removing the speaker, top of Ti needed Date: Sat, 3 Apr 2004 19:16:40 -0500 Does anyone know what mfg the speakers are in the Ti 550, and how I can get to them. If it means taking the whole computer apart, I will. I have the disassembly instructions. Or are they incapsulated in a black box and glued? Would anyone be willing to donate/sell me the top half of a Ti, if that top half is in unserviceable (ie, cracked/broken) condition (ie, cheap/inexpensive)? Can I upgrade to better speakers? I know I would have to match resistance/current draws. Thanks!
