"Classic" and "Mail" Questions

Thanks to Lisbeth for the suggestions.  I'm glad I
didn't just proceed.  Unfortunately we'll have to wait
on re-installing because programs are in storage - we
just moved to a new locale.

Thanks also to Tom Warner.  I'll do the repair - but
to have such a need so early in the game is still
disconcerting.  Will I need to think "disk permissions
repair" as one of the first actions of troubleshooting
?
