[Ti] Funky involuntary log-off under 10.3.7?

To all:

This is happening on my Albook but figure maybe it's a universal issue
under OS X.

The following has happened periodically but now six or seven times in
the last 24 hours:

Periodically, I will lock my computer using the Login window.  Some
apps running in the background, Mail, etc.

When I log back on the computer, it starts to open my session, but
then goes to the log-in blue screen and then it goes back to the Login
Window but it has closed all the apps and logged me out.

Anyone have any suggestions or what logs to look at under Console to
figure this out, or should I just blast the OS and re-install?
