Sam,

You're also paying for the faster hard drive, to wit:  7200 rpm vs. 5400
rpm.  If you're going to be using the drive for video capture and editing
(like with FCP or FCE) it's worth the money to get the faster drive.

Also, just a note, if you're using the drive for video capture and editing
you'll only want to use the firewire connection (not the USB) and therefore
the extra money you're paying to have USB connectivity as well as firewire
connectivity is a waste.
