If you set CCC to make a bootable clone, restart your PowerBook and boot from the firewire disk by holding the option key while restarting and choosing the firewire volume. If it comes up fine and you can read all your files on the firewire drive, you should be able to wipe your internal disk, reformat, repartition if you want and clone everything back. I have done this; it does work. Just do it very carefully so you don't accidentally lose anything. It would be best if your home directory is also backed up in another place. -- Dennis Fazio dfz at mac.com
