The beauty of technology is that it can be used for so many different things, even in one particular area. For music (especially keyboardists), laptops can be used for something as simple as displaying the set list (a list of songs to be performed) to something as complicated as sequencing multiple instruments for the songs (the TiBook plays the drums , bass, and various other instruments while the keyboardist looks cool or plays something else). I've a MIDI capable keyboard and sometimes hook up my TiBook to it using a USB-MIDI adapter so I can use it as a sequencer to control various aspects of my keyboard, and to also use samples stored on it (lots more storage in my TiBook for samples of instruments & sounds). The TiBook is also great for recording stuff I play, so I can lay down the various tracks of a song one by one (first get the drums, then play the bass over the drums, then add another instrument over the drums & bass, etc. etc.). And with the advent of GarageBand, making music is even cheaper and easier now since it can do a lot of things other more expensive software did, albeit not as well, but well enough for consumer consumption. Hope this helps! Cheers, Yuta On Jul 11, 2004, at 2:07 AM, Dr. Trevor J.
