However, if it is just between two machines, pick pretty much any two addresses (except those starting in 127...) that are different in only the last part (like, 1.1.1.1 and 1.1.1.2, or 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3). Since your machines aren't connecting directly to the internet in that configuration, then what IP addresses you use really don't matter too much. Just make sure to change them to valid IP addresses before you connect to the internet, or you'll have all kinds of problems. -- Glenn L.
