I have a friend (a switcher) with a new ibook & her sound out (after the bootup chime) is gone too. Nothing. I have another sound question. My 17" creates a high pitched whine perfectly in sync with the throbbing of the sleep light. When the PB is connected to a stereo - ouch! Has anyone else noticed this, or is it me? > From: Robert Raposo <rraposo at snet.net> > Reply-To: "PowerBook G4 Titanium List"<Titanium at lists.themacintoshguy.com> > Date: Thu, 13 May 2004 08:57:12 -0400 > To: "PowerBook G4 Titanium List" <Titanium at lists.themacintoshguy.com> > Subject: [Ti] No sound > > After downloading iTunes 4.5 my sound output has gotten squirrly. > I noticed this first after using iTunes, then stoped the player for a > while, when I returned, no sound. > After restarting, I have sound for a while, then it disappears, I > check the settings in the "Sound" System Preferences, they are OK, then > when I move the output volume slider from right to left to right and > check an alert sound, I have some weak output. then silence.
