It _is_ black ABS however. :-) Figured this is a good spot to mention this - since the trim is made of ABS, cracks can be permanantly repaired using a solvent-type plastic weld. I've repaired several badly cracked TiBook 'trim rings' (isn't that _every_ TiBook? :-) using Ambroid ProWeld, though other similar products should work as well. Local hobby shop is a likely source, as are such online retailers as Tower Hobbies. Another FYI, there are only 3 (or perhaps 4? *) pieces of genyoowine titanium on a TiBook: the display bezel back (the bezel front is aluminum.) the case top, not including the plastic surround (the trim ring) the case bottom, also partly made of ABS plastic * the fourth I'm not sure: the IO cover door on the rear, scraping an edge it looked and felt like Ti, but I'm not positive For lots more TiBook construction details, take a look at Apple's TiBook patent: <http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL&p =1&u=/netahtml/srchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=6,574,096.WKU.&OS=PN/6,574,096&R S=PN/6,574,096> hth, Dan K ................................. http://macdan.n3.net/ carracho://dankephoto.dhs.org:9700 hotline://dankephoto.dhs.org:9500 .................................
