Right or wrong I do it the other way around. I trust Apple (because I 
wouldn't understand if a repair suggestion was wrong :-)) so I do the 
Repair first.

Then I have found that sometimes it is necessary to repeat Repair once 
more to make certain that all repairs are done. Since Verify takes much 
less time to do I check the repair with Verify and only have to repeat 
the repair if it is necessary.

Likewise I sometimes do just the Verify when I think the permissions 
are OK, but want to check to be sure.
