I almost bought a 17" Powerbook, but in looking closely I really didn't see much difference between the 17" and 15" Powerbooks in terms of useful screen real estate. You can have wider windows but not taller. Question: when do you need a really wide window? Perhaps PS could use a wide/short screen for some photos, and letterbox DVDs would probably look better, but that is all I could think of and I hardly ever use letterbox DVDs. So, I concluded: 1) The 15" Powerbook is just about ideal for portability. 2) If I need a wider screen for something, I can hook the Powerbook up to my Studio Display (not really much wider, but a bit). 3) Since the screen has fewer square cm to fill, the 15", using the same Radeon video technology as the 17" would probably be a tad faster. 4) And finally, the 15" is a bit less expensive then the 17" for a machine that basically has the same guts. Thus I bought the 15". No way I'd even consider a 19". I'd buy a 20" iMac first. jg
