Thanks for replying, Tarik...turns out that Apple has agreed to cover the repair. My Apple Care was 3 yrs and 4 days old and online tech support--even "senior tech support"--was unable to help me; but, the Apple Store Genius Bar went behind the scenes and came back out with an approval!
