Thanks Chris, I gave it a try through terminal and the connect to server dialogue box, but my host key verification failed :-( First the ssh protocol 1 wasn't accepted by the server, then when I changed it to protocol 2 the server responded and warned me my host key had been altered. And so exited my request. The terminal and server connections are something I haven't dealt with before. Can you point me to more information on this? Would information be in the help manual accessible through the Terminal? thanks again, tim On Dec 27, 2005, at 5:52 PM, Chris Olson wrote: > On Dec 27, 2005, at 7:10 PM, T Molnar wrote: > >> Can anyone tell me how to go about decompressing a .tgz file while >> its on the server? > > SSH to the server with Terminal and at the command line do: > > tar -zxvf filename.tgz > > -- > Chris > ---------------- > > > > _______________________________________________ > Titanium mailing list > Titanium at listserver.themacintoshguy.com > http://listserver.themacintoshguy.com/mailman/listinfo/titanium > > Listmom is trying to clean out his closets!
