I know you can fool the PowerBook into running with the display disabled when using it to drive an external display with s-video out. I shut the lid on mine, then open it immediately, and before the machine goes to sleep. The built-display powers down, but the external display hooked to the s-video out port still works. Perhaps this is similar to what you've accomplished. -- Chris
