while not as secure, as the pwds can be cracked. you could very easily
archive all your data in a 0 compression password protected zip file.
cross platform, and pretty much anybody has zip. you can add files and
remove them as well. another somewhat simple solution would be to
install ntfs(if it's not already there) support on your mac, and
password protect the partition. there are also several utilities for
data encryption that you could keep a pc ver and a carbon ver on the
drive, for file by file encryption and decryption. many many choices.

Are PGP disk images cross-platform-mountable? If so, you'd probably want
to initialize the USB drive, and create the disk image on a PC, as it's
easier for Macs to deal with Windows, than the other way 'round.
Also, mounting an image requires a 'driver', how big a PITA is that on a
PC? On a Mac (if using Disk Copy/Utility) that capability is built-in,
not so on a Wintel box.
