Maybe the new iSight camera to use with Tiger's enhanced iChat will rectify the situation with a retractable cable? In the meantime I quite like the long cable as I can use it for the iSight, an iPod (with the relevant adapter), another F/W disc or to mount the client's machine as a drive on my P/B. I just unclip as much as I need for the particular role (much better than carrying around two F/W cables). Obviously Rob (or anyone else for that matter) can get the cable shortened, but he doesn't want to incur the expense then spooling it up achieves the same end whilst retaining the flexibility of a longer cable when / if its needed. -- Regards, Mark (}-: Skype / AIM / iChat: gibsonm1 An intuitive, user friendly computer for the rest of us. -- Old Apple Slogan
