The problem with a new account is that I wouldn't know what to do, the problem arises almost randomly (indipendently from the application running, the CPU load and the connection). I've tried the hardware test CD, and everything seems fine. I've noticed the noise comes even if the earphones are plugged. Thus, I would really think that the noise is not fromthe speakers but fromsomething beneath. Might it be the hard drive? Since I've noticed that there is no read/write activity whenever the problem arises. Anyway I was supposed to send it back for repair at the end of july (problem with the keyboard and trackpad seating), so, if it can survive until then... By all means, I've already backed it up on 2 different HD... Silvo Silvo Conticello Albook 17" 1.5GHz/1.5Gb RAM/80Gb HD/OS10.3.9 iMac 1GHz/500Mb Ram/80Gb HD/OS10.4.1/17" display Cambridge UK
