[Ti] FW 800 for 800 MHz. TiG4?

I'm in the process of buying another portable HD for my 800 MHz. TiG4
& saw some that are configured for FW 400, USB2 & FW 800.

If I used a PCMCIA FW 800 card & a FW 800 HD, would I get faster data
transfer than just the FW 400 that's built-in? Is my PB even capable
of transferring data at the speed of FW 800?

800 MHz. TiG4
1 Gig RAM
60 Gig HD
OS X 10.3.8.
