It's probably not true. This rumour has been circulating fodr ages in 
various forms, I remember it a few years ago, and a few years before 
that. The only part confirmed is that Apple wants intel chips for their 
machines. It was NOT specified whether these were CPUs, network cards , 
IDE controllers, WiFi cards...
Everyone just assumed CPU.
Here are some more plausable explanations:
1. Apple wants WiMax support in their machines
2. Apple is sick of Broadcom and the stupid driver thing...
3. Apple is releasing a PDA which uses an Intel XScale CPU (like most 
PDAs on the market now)
4. Apple is releasing a video iPod which uses an Intel XScale CPU
5. Apple is planning to put an X86 daughtercard on the G5s to speed up 
Virtual PC as it is very slow and won't even run on G5s...

There's 5 more plausible ones than Apple is abandoning IBM...
