So the Universal Binary Programming Guidelines state that Rosetta does not do the following: * Applications built for Mac OS 8 or 9 * Code written specifically for AltiVec * Code that inserts preferences in the System Preferences pane * Applications that require a G4 or G5 processor * Applications that depend on one or more kernel extensions * Kernel extensions * Bundled Java applications or Java applications with JNI libraries that can't be translated For AltiVec, it says 'written specifically for AltiVec.' I'm not sure what that means, as Photoshop runs through Rosetta. For Final Cut, since it's an Apple app, I suspect Apple already has a version that works on Macintel. I suspect all of Apple's apps will work, though whether those upgrades will be free remains to be seen. Besides, you'll be staying with the G5, so you've got no worries :) And for the other bullets, do you really want kernel extensions and system prefs running in emulation? Personally, I'm looking forward to see what PPC products are coming, and what the Macintel brings. Cheers, Yuta
